Maria Ribando Burmaster, D.D.S

New Orleans Dentist Dr. BurmasterDr. Maria R. Burmaster earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Loyola University and then attended Louisiana State University School of Dentistry from 1989-1993. She earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery with her sister, Dr. Valerie, who also graduated in May of 1993.

Dr. Maria has been a member of the New Orleans Dental Association, the Louisiana Dental Association and the American Dental Association since 1993. She is also a member of the Crescent City Study Club, a branch of the Seattle Study Club.

Dr. Maria attended the Center for Advanced Dental Studies in St. Petersburg to advance her knowledge of TMJ diagnosis and treatment, Invisalign and many other continued education courses relevant to achieving the highest quality care for her patients.

She participates in Donated Dental Services which is a national humanitarian program developed by the National Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped.

Dr. Maria is married to Barron Burmaster and has three sons. She is a member of Visitation of Our Lady Parish where she plays the organ and sings.


Valerie Ribando Hemphill, D.D.S

New Orleans Dentist Dr. HemphillDr. Valerie R. Hemphill earned a Bachelor of Science from Southeastern Louisiana University prior to attending Louisiana State University School of Dentistry from 1989-1993. Along with Dr. Maria, Dr. Valerie graduated in 1993 earning a Doctor of Dental Surgery.

Dr. Valerie has been an active member of the New Orleans, Louisiana, and American Dental Associations since 1993, and is a member of the Crescent City Study Club branch of the Seattle Study Club. She achieved additional training in the treatment of TMJ disorder, occlusion and Invisalign® through the Dawson Center.

Dr. Valerie participates in Donated Dental Services which assists the needy and disabled through the National Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped.

She’s been married to Dr. Philip Hemphill since 1985, and they have five children. Dr. Valerie has and continues to be a lifelong resident of the West bank, residing in Marrero. She is also active in her parish of Visitation of Our Lady Catholic Church’s stewardship.
